Is Winter the Worst Time For Car Accidents?

Is Winter the Worst Time For Car Accidents?

As the cold nights draw in closer and closer, people start getting a lot more rushed. They rush to get to work and rush to get home, simply so they can be in the warmth. But does the winter feeling cause more accidents on the roads? Let's take a look.
There is nothing more enjoyable then driving in the summertime, with the sun beaming on your face and birds singing, even getting up in the mornings makes you feel alive. But the winter is totally different people do not want to get out of bed, because it is cold, dark and miserable. Therefore when they do get up they are probably still half asleep.

Personally this winter while I have been driving to work, I am coming across a lot of accidents on the road, both in the morning and in the evening when returning. People are getting themselves in such a huge pickle that they lose their driving ability. But this is not just happening where I live, this is in fact happening up and down the country. The traffic alerts on the radio are forever mentioning accidents. I cannot remember any of this in the summer. I used to drive to and from work without ever getting stuck in traffic caused by accidents.
People should start being more careful and realise that they have to change the way they drive for different seasons. During the winter especially in the UK we experience a lot of rain and wind, driving at high speeds in these types of conditions is dangerous yet people still persist to drive fast and end up crashing.
Some of the worst examples I have seen is people speeding on icy roads, do they not know that wheels can still skid in icy conditions? All this being said I do believe that driving throughout the winter period is much more risky then hitting the road in the summer.
To keep yourself extra safe you should really look at buying a modern day vehicle, as older vehicles are much more likely to lose control in bad weather conditions. New vehicles come with a wide range of security features that will not only help keep you safe, but it will also work in keeping any passengers safe that may well be travelling with you. Buying a car, especially now can be very affordable, you should always consider your health first.
